USVI Charter Yacht Show Winners
POWER CATAMARAN SEA GLASS Winner Best in Show 66' & Over The key elements of power catamaran SEAGLASS are Elegance, Stability, Efficiency, Performance, Luxury, Space, Privacy, Amenities, Safety, Maneuverability, Ease of Maintenance and Eye Catching Dock Appeal. It is fair to say that no other yacht of her size offers everything that has successfully been designed on SEAGLASS.
The guests will appreciate the main deck, with all the primary living areas on a single level, including the massive aft deck with dining for 10 and lounging for 8, a bar and ample storage lockers. The large saloon offers seating for 8, separate inside formal dining for 8, gourmet galley with island and bar with 4 stools. Forward on the main deck is the glamorous full-beam master stateroom with walk around King bed, 180-degree views, spacious en-suite bathroom, sofa, vanity, and ample storage.

Expedition-style and a one-of-a-kind experience is what Seth Salzmann, Captain of the largest yacht on show, the 141.8-foot COLUMBIA, says is his vessels' niche. Launched in 2014 by the Eastern Shipbuilding Group, the replica of the same-named famous fishing schooner built in Massachusetts in 1923, boasts 21st-century amenities and accommodates up to 12 guests.
"We offer a comfortable experience getting from point A to point B, especially at longer distances such as from the Virgin Islands down to St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Barbados or Grenada,” says Salzmann, who explains that while this is Columbia’s third season in the Caribbean, it’s the first time the yacht is available for charter."
EROS, a 1939-built 115-foot staysail schooner that has hosted European royalty in the past and more recently underwent an 18-year-museum quality restoration, offers guests a wonderful mix of tall ship and yacht charter experience.
“We cater to everyone from those who want to participate in a full-on sailing experience to those who simply want to relax, since we have four crew, and enjoy the classic nature of the vessel,” says captain Justin Bernhart. “We also have all the modern-day water toys from surfboards to SUPs, inflatable beach and water toys, and a 14-foot tender for wakeboarding.”
There were beautiful power yachts such as ELITE, a 2018-built Sunseeker 66, on show. “Sailing is all about the journey, power is about the destinations,” says Captain Mike Briggs, who adds that the yacht’s gyrostabilizers offer a smooth ride.
Over three-quarters of charter yacht show entries this year were catamarans. No two are the same and we enjoyed seeing new models & designs.
“Our focus is on watersports,” says Kieran Bown, Captain of the 2014-built 62-foot Lagoon, TWIN FLAME, which true to niche was the only vessel with Lift-brand foiling boards aboard as water toys. “We run an expedition company in the off-season and want to bring some of that on board, such as expedition-style advanced scuba trips and luxury liveaboard dive vacations.”

Captain Dylan and Chef Gi have an enthusiasm and passion for life on the water. With their easy-going charm and love of hospitality, your trip aboard its sure to be that of a lifetime!
Dylan will guide you to perfect bays and secret spots, pairing your expectations and his knowledge to make exploring the Islands all the more enjoyable. Nothing is too much for any of his guests, be that sun tanning on the flybridge with a cocktail in hand, or getting you involved in sailing Slivochka. Dylan grew up sailing the Indian and Atlantic Oceans with his family, totaling 20 000 nautical miles over six years, having left his home of South Africa at age 6. Fully qualified and commercially endorsed as a MCA/RYA Yacht Master Offshore 200GT, he has a full STCW and is a certified PADI Dive Master.
Gi grew up in Mozambique, a country on the east coast of Africa, famous for its tropical beaches, fresh seafood, and Portuguese influences. Later on, she would discover her interest in local and international cooking, learning from seasoned chefs operating within the Safari. In 2017 she made the decision to advance her skills by completing the Capital Culinary School Diploma in Professional Cookery, affording her the opportunity to return to Mozambique to delight guests with her refined culinary skills. She now looks forward to welcoming you aboard Slivochka and creating delicious meals for you and your friends and family.
Both Dylan and Gi enjoy families & children and aim to maximize the fun and adventure in each charter, whilst providing a relaxed atmosphere for you to unwind.
